Thin line between broken-in and broken

I finally got myself an Emerson CQC-15 and the action is tight, though surprisingly smooth. Since this is exclusively a fighting knife for me, the edge has only tasted paper once. How much flicking and "wave-ing" can i subject it to without crossing the line? Or is the range from the point of breaking it in to breaking it that wide?

i am constantly fondling (!) my folders, several emersons included.

i have never had a lock fail, break, or wear to the point of improper operation.

flick and wave away!!!

If you eveeeeentually wear it out, that's the price of fun. Time to get another one. Ain't no fun leaving it in your pocket. :)

Waving won't wear anything out prematurely, flicking can but is not too harmful in moderation.
