Guess what? Vibroplex is still in business and still makes that key.

When I was active in amateur radio about 20 years ago I used one.

Of course now the price for new one is about $200.

Thats nice. It sure looks to be in great condition too.

It's the first time it's been out of the box since he left that job to work for IBM. It is in really good condition for it's age.
 
The Vibroplex key and Western Electric sounder are actually quite collectable (read valuable). As much as there are knife collectors, there are key collectors. As there are custom knife makers, there are custom key makers too. Amateur Radio operators who still enjoy code are often crazy for these things. I have a friend who is an avid key collector.

My great uncle was a Western Union operator back in the golden days. He had a very similar key. One of my very few CW (code) contacts was with him.
