Things like this make me think about selling my Starmate!!!

If you sell it, the money will soon be gone, along with the knife. On the other hand, if you use it, you'll have the enjoyment of using a really well designed knife.
 
I sold my Starmate about 4 months ago, for me it was just too big and I'm not a big fan of CE or liner locks so I never used it, if they make it available with SE, I might be able to get used to the liner lock. Great design, bulletproof knife. Cheers, Rob
 
I sold mine a while back on Ebay for 178.00.I regreted it and found another one.

If they are just beginning to talk about it now, then "soon" is not a word I'd be using just yet. The Starmate would have to be retooled from scratch for the new blade steel, new or refined lock, and new handle material. The Microstar would be a minimum of 1 year away.

Get excited, just not too excited. ;)
 
I sold mine (PE) sometime ago (stupid stupid stupid) and bought one back (PE) recently for $75 here on BFC thanks to a tip from Jeff and I won't sell it ever again. Even with the possible new ones (far far) on the horizon.
