How about stabbing yourself in the finger while testing it to see if it has any blade play? By the way, the sucker is very sharp and pointy out of the box.

I hope that it'll heal quickly and doesn't give you too much trouble

HAHAHAHAHA...I have my DNA (blood-"samples") on pretty-much ALL of MY knives, so don't feel too bad, or too stupid.

One of my favorite topics. Just did another "bloodletting" today, playing around with my mini AFCK.

Someday when they dig up my mummified body 200,000 years from now, they'll probably think I worked in a chainsaw factory.

Keep lots of Bandaids handy.

I don't carry a knife till after I've accidentaly cut myself in the process of practicing opening and closing it. Then I can carry it, cause I'm bonded to the knife :-)

Best selling point I have in my B&M store is to cut myself while telling customer how sharp the knife is....Has worked well up till now, but am starting to run out of fingers and toes...the next option is not an option..may be unemployed soon.... ;-) md

KWIK EDIT: I just noticed in another thread SS got locked down for saying he does unusual stuff w/new blades...For the record, I do not kut myself (or others) and do not recommend you try it at home. (another wink) md

No, there is not a bit of play to the blade on this SERE 2000. There is a bit of play to my finger now, though.

Want to know what else is sharp and pointy out of the box? The large BM Ascent. Trust me.

A friend gently tossed it to me folded, but the tip must have come out because the thing cut into my finger and bounced off the bone. OUCH!!!

That's gonna leave a nice scar ...

I can recall the time I was carving a jack-o-lantern when I was 10. I was using a SAK classic, because that was the only knife my mother would permit me. I was carving out the lid, and when I yanked the blade out, it cut the large joint of my left ring finger... to the bone

Now, the scar is just over a half inch, but that's quite large for a 10 year old's hands. I got 5 stitches and then discovered, with much amusement

, that I could use my mangled finger to scare the crap out of girls.
