Here is an auction that has ENDED. No high price or anything. Actually probably not a bad buy at all.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140138835412&rd=1&rd=1

But look at the description and look at the blade. I know it's fuzzy. In the description it says "# 404835" and you can see it is a four pin LB7. Also in the description it says "stamping(UNCLE HENRY SCHRADE+ LB7 U.S.A.)". Now look at the fuzzy blade and you can just make out the UNCLE HENRY.

The question is......how does Uncle Henry show up on the blade of a knife that should have been made before Schrade started using that tang stamp? Should it be there? Inquiring minds want to know!

Without clear pictures, it is impossible to say with any certainty. With clear pictures we might see that it was a replacement blade. That is one plausable possibility. It is also possible to see a circa 1977-78 LB-7 in a later circa 1986-87 box. Another possibility is that the handle material is not Fibron wood at all but rather smooth delrin. Those knives went back to four pins because of cover gap problems.

PS- Schrade is full of inigmas and oddities. That is one thing that makes it so much fun.

I wonder if that seller could draw us picture so that we can get a better idea of what the knife looks like?

Right. This is one of those gamble auctions. The results could go either way. Not necessarily a bad idea to bid on, but you better ask the seller a lot of questions prior to bidding
