I got some good advice from the knifelist today. I asked what would be a good material to soak my wood handle material in to make it harder and fill some cavities. I was told using polyuerathane thinned to the consistancy of water with gasoline works good. Gene Osbourn said he uses Rotted wood hardener that you can get at Lowes for a reasonable price. I'm gonna get some of this in the next day or two and dunk some burl maple and eucalyptus wood for a day or two to see what happens. I'll post the results.
