It's been sleeting and snowing for the last 30 hours and I was getting a bit bored when I noticed an orange that had been sitting in the fruit bowl a little too long. So what does a knife nut do when he's bored and finds an orange that needs to be pitched? Why they grab their biggest knife and see if the can slice it in half in mid-air.

The first swing was a little off and resulted in the little nick you see but the second try was more on target. Pretty happy with the mid-air slice since I used an Outcast that I reworked the edge on.

That looks like a heavy bit of steel there. Be careful with your grip as that thing would do some damage (and may be damaged itself) if it went flying through the air. Also consider your follow-through, where the knife will go given momentum, after it slices the orange. Will it, for example, continue into your thigh? That would not be good. Otherwise, have fun. This will be a handy skill to develop for parties. Imagine, for example, out on the deck this summer with guests gathered round, you toss up a head of letuce over a bowl and whack whack whack you made salad in mid-air. Very impressive, very showy, something that will get this be talked about for years to come.
