So here I sit in my workspace having lunch today, a deepdish slice of pepperoni pizza. A habit that some may find odd is that I eat my pizza with a fork and knife. So here I am cutting away at the fist real food I've had to eat today when someone unexpectedly shows up in my workspace and asks me to sign a few checks. Guess what?

She basically freaks out over the knife I am using to cut my pizza. Now I want you to picture this--she is standing there with buggy eyes saying she has never seen or heard of anyone in all her life cutting pizza with a knife, or at least with one as "hard core" (her words, not mine) as mine. I try to explain that it is just something I have done all my life (cut pizza with a knife, that is), but all she can manage to say is that it is very odd, and then she walks out. :rolleyes: Even stranger, it is routine for people to be walking around here with guns on their hips, but I guess that doesn't really bug her. Oh, and the knife??? It is an Active Duty. :eek: Needless to say, I probably won't sleep well now for the next month because I really value her educated and reasoned opinion. :foot: Sometimes I just don't get it. :barf:
 
Yeah, sorry, but that's just weird bro! Eat it with your hands like the rest of us primates. I mean, why do you think god gave us opposable thumbs if it wasn't to eat pizza???

But seriously, next time at least use something more fitting to the task - like a BM!
 
Some people lead such sheltered lives,,,<shakes head>,,, the AD only has a 3.5 inch blade,,,,,most of my EDC folders are bigger than that,,,,,cept my Sebbie.....same size. However, now you know!!!!!!!!! Careful what you *pull out* @ work,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,lmao :D

Hell , if your gonna shock em,,,,,do it full on....... foxyrick's suggestion is just that !!!!! I think I've seen a pic floating somewhere around the forum of KAAK eating his food with a Moab....... that woulda curled the office workers teeth :D .
 
Funny you mention this. I was thinking about this a pizza place the other day, and I looked around, and it was about 50/50. I personally go back and forth between utensils and hands, depending on it I'm wearing a suit or a t-shirt, and we all have had accidents with grease at some point, no? You get the idea. Anyway, maybe she was flirting with you.

BTW, pizza does taste better when eaten with your hands.

That is a little strange. i like foods like that're meant to be eaten with hands instead of utensils burritos, hotdogs, pizza.

i guess it's ok because it's a deep dish

Nothing wrong with eating Pizza with utensils. I do it so I don't get Cheese and Pepperoni grease all caught up in my facial hair. Use a NMSFNO next time, then see what she does. :D
 
Friend, even the smartest folks have unreasoned opinions ... attitudes they hold without ever really examining them. I think you just ran into that.

This could be an opportunity to help her examine her opinion.

People shouldn't be afraid of objects. Certainly not at the level you've described. She could definitely use some help.
 
If something that small appeared that big to her ... her hubby and/or BF is safe from not measuring up in her eyes.

If she brings it up again, that you use utensils..... just kindly explain we have moved past caveman status.

Seriously, you should see 'em freak out and work when I produce a pink Delica for mundane knife tasks...it is a shame. ;)
