I had to make this post in the knife specific Kershaw forum because I think I'm hooked on Kershaw knives.
It started when I bought my first Kershaw, which was the anodized aluminum Leek (it's the Blue Black one).
This was followed by the RJII 1980 which has a really nice Tanto blade and a more agressive Speedsafe release.
Then I purchased a Kershaw Chive for my sister as she has small hands. Before sending it to her I got to play with it some and now I want one because it's a great knife for most tasks but sharpened to a razor edge it is a great knife for intricate work (due to size and weight) as well as most jobs around the house where a knife would be the tool of choice or convenience.
Having said that, I think I'm really hooked on the Leek as I keep seeing so many variations of that knife and it's like their almost calling to me.
I still have the one Leek but the Kershaw 1735OR just seems to be calling my name. The blade has that unusual grind to it, I wouldn't call it serated but the texture and the orange scales just call out "Look at me." I'm really digging this but I also feel I would be amiss if I didn't have a standard issue Leek as well in my collection.
I'm interested in the Kershaw Blur as it seems like the bigger brother of the Leek and just feels right in my hand though I still prefer the Leek.
Kershaw must have really struck gold with the issue of the Leek AO Speedsafe blades and they know to entice us with new and different variations.
I promised myself that I wouldn't buy anything until my Spyderco Para2 arrives in the mail as I dropped a few bucks from my knife buying budget on that knife but nevertheless the various Kershaw knives keep calling to me and eBay certainly isn't helping the matter.
I feel better getting that off my chest and feel like I'm among fellow addicts in this forum. Let me know that I'm not alone, please.
