I have one and am quite happy with it. Very solid. The steel takes a great edge.
It is a large knife however and despite the titanium it is not a lightweight folder. I just checked and it was 189 grams. For me it is just a bit big for edc and I'm looking forward to the SR-1 mini.

This vs a Sebby? What's your opinion?

The SR-1 is a great knife.
Comparing it to a Sebenza is like comparing night and day though.
The Sebenza was made to be the perfect EDC pocket knife.
The SR-1 is a tank and a big beefy folder.
Both have different blade steels, and feel completely different.

They are both great knives, and if this one catches your fancy, get it.

I see the price says $400 - that's about the going rate, or close to it.

I only have a small Sebenza, this one compares to the large so I can't really compare. But let me put it this way: As the SR-1 nicely fills the niche for the large folder I do not feel the need for a large seb anymore.
And I really want the SR-1 mini. I'm curious to see if it will push the seb out of my pocket. I like the sleipner steel better than the s35v on the Sebenza, for me it is easier to get it really sharp.
Have you seen Dagons review?

For a perfect EDC I mean.
The SR1 reminds me of the Izula in a way.
I think the Sebby would be a better choice.
Hmmm.

Forget the "Perfect" knife thing. :D
Nice knife but try a Strider SnG... or a Sebenza.

Two years ago last month, I elected to celebrate a monumental day with a super knife - $400-worth. The last two in competition were the Wilson Combat/CRK 'StarTac' Umnumzaan and the then new/hard to find SR-1 - I went with the 'zaan and have been super pleased. Of course, the SR-1 looked nice - and I kept thinking about it - until the Blade Show this year, when I bummed a ride over to Atlanta - and had some denaros to spend. Within minutes, I had met Lion Steel's Gianni - and fondled an SR-1. I should have just bought it then - I would not spend a dime at the show until we were headed home - and I made a dash back to his booth with enough moola to secure the SR-1 I wanted. I fondled it and passed it around the car on the way home - fantastic knife. Skip ahead to today - it has yet to grace my pocket! That 'zaan is a fantastic EDC knife - certainly no small knife itself, but an easier/less bulky/marginally finer fitted & finished knife. In retrospect, I should have passed the SR-1 by... I just cannot bring myself to sell it. For me, the CRK/WC 'zaan was a better choice. It's S30V blade is fine enough for me. Sharp, too!

Re the small Sebbie... I bought two expensive knives I had wanted for my birthday 7/11 at a local store. The salesman, as I was leaving, showed me the new S35VN CRK plain small Sebbies he had just received. I looked at my bag with the two knives I had wanted within - it's total was a buck less than the Sebbie. I made it to the car - and then to the first traffic light. The salesman happily exchanged the knives for the small Sebbie - and I was elated. My wife, unknown to me, had him put the other two knives back for her - she presented them to me for my birthday a few days later. She's a keeper!

Some days I carry both - but the small Sebbie was bought as a 'Gent's knife' - for dress-up. Right. It's a pocket knife - and more appropriate as an EDC than the 'zaan some days. It's S35VN blade seems as long lasting, edge-wise, as the S30V - but easier to touch up with my basic Sharpmaker. Both havI did also buy a DPX HEST/f 2.0 - another Italian made knife by Lion Steel - and I do carry and use it. It's D2 steel holds up well - and likely will be as time consuming to resharpen as my other D2 edges. It's a great 'get your feet wet' way to experience Lion Steel knives - mine, locally, was <40% of the SR-1's cost. Nice knife!
