Think Twice, Cut Once

Just ordered a small Sebenza that is engraved "Think Twice, Cut Once". I never have been a fan of knives with fancy handles so most of my fixed blades are micarta or G10 material. Likewise my folders have followed suit, with handles in the more utilitarian material. Although I do have a very nice GEC with a real nice bone handle, that knife is an exception not the rule for me.

My addiction has taken me to the Ti slabbed Sebenza's and Umnumzaan's but I am having a hard time with the CR knives that are decorated. They are extremely nice looking. But I don't know if I will ever buy one of the colorful computer etched models. But I like the simple wording on the knife I purchased, it is not a plain Jane, but for sure it is not fancy. So I can live with that, and it will be a user. Birthday of the knife is 3/07, so it's been sitting around. Have a great Sebenza day :).

Congrats on getting one that is a tad different than your others :D That's half the fun :D

I really want to buy one for my dad for Fathers Day. As a kid, I would help him with repair work on his house and "Think Twice/Cut Once" was his motto.

He's computer savvy and would find out how much it cost and would be really upset I spent that on a knife. He's 85 and has carried a pocket knife of some kind since he was 6.

A Mnandi would be perfect for him.

My father use to tell me when working with him in the garage, "measure twice, cut once". He was a carpenter but the wording just a little different with the same great message and lesson. I would get him the knife anyway, I think it would blow him away. Just make sure he understands the inheritance clause that comes with the gift :).
