Well, I just came to a realisation. I think I now understand why some people who own Sebenza's have so many of them, or more than one.
I just bought a Bradley Alias II. I love it. It's the best folder I've ever owned. It will surely be my EDC (1st gen Delica replacement) for years to come. That is, until I perhaps one day buy a Sebbie, when that will probably become my EDC. The strength and simplicity of both really impress me; my quest for now, is over.
Outside of a 707 Sequel, and a Spyderco Caly, both of which I've wanted for a while, I think I'm done buying folders for quite some time. Well, if something catches my eye I'll no doubt buy it, but I mean I'm done shopping around for them. The Alias is all I can foresee needing or wanting for a long time.
Back to the Sebbie thing... this must also be what happens when you buy a Sebbie. It's kinda tops in the line up or chart of folders, so once you've got one, what else do you need? Sure, folks will sometimes buy other knives after a Sebbie; customs, one-off impulse purchases, or continue to just flesh out their collection with mere numbers, but I suspect that the hunt really ends when you get a good knife like that (or the Alias in my current case). They just buy more Sebenza's. Their initial plain Sebbie is great, and they want to top it; to get that 'first fix' kinda feeling, so what else to do but get an engraved one, or perhaps mammoth bark inlays...
I'm not saying 'all of you Sebenza owners', but just making a casual observation.
Anyhow, just bored and musing. Have a good one, all.
