Thinking about a Brian Tighe, should I?

So I handled a Tighe Breaker at a local shop and fell in love. It may be my dream knife. I want one desperately. Thing is, it is almost 2x what I have spent on my most expensive knife. And the cash isn't there. I would have to put my beloved Deimos and Socom Elite on the chopping block to raise part of the money. The Elite I was already thinking about selling since I am waiting on a Delta. The Deimos I love, but it's bigger than what I tend to carry. I mostly just play with it.

So, looking for input from Tighe owners, the Breaker or otherwise. Is it worth it?

I have a Tighe on my wish-list (X-Dagger). If that means getting rid of a few other knives that no longer fill my needs or those whose novelty has run it's course, then that's what I'll do. If it doesn't meet your expectations or you eventually decide it's not for you, then I'm sure you wouldn't have much trouble recouping most of your money back. Happy is the man who knows what he wants and happier is the man who gets it.:)

Had one. Too nice to ever use. So if you want a 500 plus dollar knife to look at then get one!

See that's the thing, I could see myself actually carrying it. My edc knives get very little, very light use. I always carry a beater when I have a nice one on me anyways. And it fit my hand like nothing else has.

If you aren't really using the knives you would have to get rid of, I say go for it. I haven't owned a Tighe piece yet but the couple I have handled had me hooked. A Tighe Stick is on my wish list. As for carrying/using a very expensive knife, I personally like to carry all my knives. Some may not see very hard use (as to not risk serious damage) but they all get used no matter what. I used to be in your boat and just carried a "user" to spare my nicer knives but I found I enjoyed the knife much more when I could use it to its full potential. Also, the beauty of custom/high end knives is you can usually send them in for refurbishing for a nominal fee. Granted, if you enjoy the knife just by owning it, that's reason enough to buy it if you want it. Nothing wrong with having a beautiful knife to drool over once in a while. I think Brian Tighe's knives are a great balance between art and function- whichever application, I think you'll be happy.

I love this one he did
