Thinking about a centofante 3

I've been looking at a centofante 3 lately but have a few questions. First, Do you own one and how do you like it? Also, how thick is the blade stock compared to a delica or dragonfly ? (pics would be a big help). I know it isn't a hard use blade, but I like the blade shape and although I am in the minority, I like the pinned construction. Is the lockup good? does it carry well? Thanks.

One of my favorites. My most gifted knife as well, because a lot of people love it when they see mine.

Blade is thinner than the Delica, and about the same as the DragonFly. I can try to get pics tonight.

It carries very well. You don't even notice it's there until you need it.

Used it for years and it's as solid as ever. Highly recommended!

Armadew pretty much covered it on blade thickness and ease of carry.

The Centofante 3 is one of my top Spyderco favorites. I hesitated buying one for too long, thinking too much about the pinned construction, only having a partial lining with untextured FRN scales and the thin, almost delicate-appearing blade. Once I had one in hand, all those worries vanished. It kind of reminds me of the Al Mar Ultralight series. It feels great, very light and as ergonomic as all Spydercos. The FRN is not slippery at all and, since I still own 20+ year old Spyderco models with pinned construction and unlined FRN that show no loosening at all, I don't worry about excessive wear. That thin blade is a superb slicer--I use it often to split one of my prescribed meds for divided dosages without crushing the small tablets.

I also love the appearance. I'm a big fan of sabre grinds and swedges (something I miss on many current Spyderco models) and the form follows function well. It's not a heavy-duty, batoning chopper but it is a fine knife for everyday knife-like jobs. I like it so much, I bought a second one to put back in case it's ever discontinued and I lose my original knife.

Every time mine goes into rotation it stays for many months, and I find myself constantly appreciative of how comfortable it is to carry, as well as what a fine slicer the blade is. More the gents knife than any kind of heavy duty blade, but we'll put together and rugged enough for typical uses. The 3 and 4 are both real favorites, enough so that I have spares in case of loss.

It's an old standby that's for sure.

Spyderco axes models that doesn't sell well, even beloved ones. It stays in the catalog for a reason :)

It's about time for a sprint run to reinvigor the line. A three or four with different steel and handle color? A Vesuvius with comp lock?
