Thinking about a CF large Sebenza 21....flex?

Insingo or drop point. Hmm I love my 25! Would just like to have a lighter 21 to carry around as well. Would be nice to switch it up here and there. Thoughts? Comparisons? Who owns both? And of course I hear the CF can flex but come on it's pretty strong and I am a light to medium user so I'm not too concerned unless I'm missing something.

I've got a 21 with a cf slab, love it, it is lighter somewhat, and I've not had any issues with it. I was so impressed with it, I had BerryH make one for my 25. It is sweet, BerryH did a great job!!!!
Wish I knew how to post pics, I'd show it off. I don't think you'll have any issues with a cf sebenza.

I use the drop point more than I do the insingo, but that's just me. A lot of folks love the insingo. Yes, the cf by itself will flex, but on the knife, it's sturdy and strong. It's like a metal stud, it bends by itself, slap a sheet of sheetrock on it and it doesn't move.

The 21 is lighter by a little bit than the 25 anyway. Although just as tough.
I prefer the TI handle to Carbon Fiber or G10 after market handles I make just due to the beauty of the stock Ti.

I have a few different carbon fiber handles I made for the Large 21 based off of my own knife.
No flex at all due to the design of the knife. Maybe you can try if you grip the heck out of it. But nothing to be concerned about.. A nice cut in weight. But no loss in strength. Nothing to be concerned about as well.

If you don't want to go CF, a normal 21 is significantly lighter than a 25. That's the first thing I notice when I switch up between a large 21 and a 25, is the weight difference. It's not something you have to look for. It obvious when you have carried one or the other for some time and then change. Maybe there is specs on the net. I can only imagine the CF version would be lighter still.

I really appreciate having both. I really like both models. If you can afford both you are fortunate, and will not regret having both in your life. They are different enough for it to be worth it. It also gives you something to think about constantly (which do I like better?)

Go for it. You will never be able to use the knife hard enough to get any flex out of it. I personally like the drop point more, but still like the Insingo. The swedge on the Insingo comes in handy but makes it impossible to clean my nails. I know that sounds silly, but I'm big on keeping my nails cleaned and trimmed nicely since I'm in the food industry.

I am a big fan of the CF models, I have not noticed any flex or lack of performance in any way. I have been carrying the large 21 CF as an off work EDC, but would gladly trade it for the Insingo version.

I have never even handled a regular but I got to carry a large CF a few weeks before purchasing my small CF and I haven't noticed any flex or lack of performance in any way.

I'm not able to comment on the weight or any other direct comparison issues but like I said the two CF's I have experience have been rock solid.

CF is extremely stiff. You're not going to flex that scale. You'll break the blade first...

Since you already have a 25 I would suggest and Insingo vs another drop point. I think the large Insingo (any variety) is the prefect compliment/companion to the 25! A little variety with CRKs is a good thing IMHO.

Insingo or drop point.

Snagged one! Great deal on a LNIB 2012 model. Sweet! Went with the large drop point blade. (Will probably wish its an insingo)

Give a tanto a shot. Here are my Large and Small Tanto Sebbies with macarta and an older tanto Umnum (Lil Heavier) with a Southard spacer. Sorry gotta show it again. :o

Carbon Fiber has a much greater tensile strength property than Ti, it isn't going to flex :). The Ti will bend in half before that CF flexes out of shape

It's amazing the size and weight are perfect. Feels like a whole new Sebenza. Perfect balance of CF and a 21.
