Thinking about a CR folder

I collect Sypderco, but I have enough odds and ends of other stuff to sell and come up with enough money and buy a new CR folder. I have thought about it awhile and believe I'd be as well off with one as several other brands I don't use and don't collect. I will probably get a large Sebenza or the new Umnumzaan. What do you folks here think about my plan?:D
 
There is no such thing as getting just one CRK!
But judging buy the number of spydies you have you know exactly what I mean.

Sebenza or Umnumzaan, you can't go wrong.

Get a Sebbie.You won't regret it.I didn't & I'm almost ready to buy my second one.

I've had A LOT of folders,but was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the quality of the Sebenza.You really notice it,the first time you take it apart.

The small might be ok for your 'lady like' hands.:) It was way too small for mine though.Only larges for me.
 
I knew I'd get support for my plan here.
I'm getting a large one, as I always buy the bigger versions first of any knife.

I got a African Blackwood inlay Lg. Classic for my first one.I'm getting a large CGG soon for my second one.
 
"Lady-like", ha! Get the large. You are too active to buy small. :D

You might consider a Mnandi for dress occasions, later. Small as it is, I had measured the blade against my Native's, and they are the same length, so it's actually a working knife, just ... elegant.

If you do go for the Umnumzaan, you'll be out in the wilds with it. But actually, the Sebenza itself is good in the woods.
 
Try to actually hold them. They are both nice but the Umnanzaan felt way better in my hand than the Sebenza. Either way they are superb knives. Have fun shopping:D
 
Go for the large 21--I love mine and because I love mine you have to love yours. jk, if you can get them in your hand that would be awesome. I had to se vids and such for my selection and I made the right choice. Oh, and spyderco rocks:)

I find the para fits my hand very well and so does the large seb. Maybe if you like the para as well you may have similar hands to me. Good luck
 
As someone who loved, and still do love Spydercos and came over to CRK knives; the classic or 21 style is my favorite.

I see your posts on Spyderco's forum a lot since I'm also a Spyderholic. I have more Spydies than anything else, but I also have my fav Sebs. In fact, the only two knives that I've EDC'd for the last couple of years have been a Caly 3 and a small regular Seb. The regular is in my pocket now and my Ironwood 21 will go to church with me in the morning.

Get a Seb. It won't knock you off Spydercos, it'll just help you appreciate how well made both CRKs and Spydercos are when you have a chance to own and use both of them.
 
The gears have been set into motion! I've listed enough of my odds and ends on the bay that hopefully will realize enough loot to buy me a new Umnumzaan. I can feel good about the money outlay, as this stuff was just laying around gathering dust, so to speak.(none of it would probably sell well here on the exchange)
I decided on the Umnumzaan after reading NickZac's glowing review on it.
So, if all goes well in a couple of weeks I'll be the new owner of CR's new high-tech folder.
 
Congratulations Jill! You go all out on the first shot! The Umnum is a great knife! Recently arrived in SA (After a year!!!!), but very expensive and I cannot afford it now. I would recommend you buy from Chris Reeve website directly as they sell the take down tool now with it.

You will love your sebb,i like the large not sure if you would want the small or large,it is the best,good luck...............
 
Good call on the Umnumzaan. It is MUCH tougher than the Sebenza which is something that only 1 knife can say...
 
I'm going to have enough to buy it brand new, after my stuff sells. It's already approaching 300 dollars with over 4 days left. So after it's all cleared and the PayPal is loaded the trigger can be pulled!:thumbup:
 
Hi Jill, I began my knife collecting with Spydies too and then started in on CRK folders and one-piece knives. The Sebe and Umnumzaan are both great (but quite different) designs and in my opinion are nice enough to justify getting both. I do not think you will be disappointed with either.
