I was just looking at getting a Emerson cqc10 and i was wondering if anyone had any opinions on it. I like the overall look size weight and feel of it quite a bit and the wave is a feature i love. so what do all you emerson lovers think?

the '10 is ok but isnt one of my favs but nothing really wrong with it imho.

i simply prefer the '12, '13 and '8 myself.

any particular reason behind that? and honestly the main reason im going with the 10 is i have it at my work where i can get a pretty goo deal on it

i like the '12 because:

*its a frame lock vs a liner lock.

*its a more limited production knife.

*i like the blade shape on the '12 better than the '10.

*the '12 is almost a std 'v' grind.

*i like the '12s handle design better.

of course the '12 is higher, but the '13 isnt and its pretty close to a '12 except its liner lock vs the frame lock.

The '10 was my first EKI. I have 5 now, '10, '11, Mini-Com, PSARK and SARK. The '10 is still my favorite and my EDC.

I prefer the Commander and the CQC-7 models. Good ergos easy to manipulate and hold on to. I picked up a CQC-15 recently and it feels damn nice in the hand too.

I think you will be more than happy with any Emerson knife, they are great you wont be sorry no matter what model you get. Go for the 10 being a good deal just makes it that much better. J

Like I've said before. Don't worry too much about which one you choose as your first. In no time, you'll end up with more Emersons than you've got pants to put them in. The 10 is a great choice. Good working blade, opening hole offers more usable blade length. Get it and get hooked.
