I'm relatively new to knife game with a few Benchmades and a Spyderco Centofante 3 and I'm looking at getting a frame lock to add to the collection. I've veen looking primarily at Spyderco with the PPT, it felt good in my hand and I really loved how smooth the blade deployed. The other one I've been eyeing is the Southard flipper, awesome knife felt great in the hand and again deployment was very nice but a little out of my price range right now. Are there any companies I should be looking at in that price range?

Zero Tolerance makes some really great knives I love my 0561 its got the bearing pivot and the flipper like the southard and its a titanium framelock you can find them for around the $200 mark. The southard is a really great knife too and the CTS-204p steel is very nice it holds an excellent edge

You want Frame Lock knives in the range of the PPT?

Check out the Spyderco Sage 2. s30v and all ti for about $150.

Another good one is the Boker Albatros - Beast of a knife. VG-10 and Ti for $100.

Spyderco Techno can be had for around $160, CTS-XHP and all Ti with an awesome Blue Back Spacer. It's a beast, but actually a good slicer.

If you're looking for something a little bigger, check out the Spyderco Chokwe - Was recently discontinued. Beautiful, smooth, Ti frame lock, G-10 scale, s30v steel. You can get it deeply discounted. Around $120 - $125.

I love the Chokwe, one of my favorites. Big, ergos are great, thin, smooth, excellent knife all around.
I've owned all of the others I mentioned as well, all excellent knives.

Kevin Wilkins design: Leafstorm C128GP is a great frame-lock: Reeve-style integral lock. Strong, light, attractive, easy carry clip from Spyderco. And new for about $135. Check Google.
Has 1/8" thick blade of S30v. Excellent carry blade.

If you are interested in a beefy, heavy duty framelock, Kershawguy has a 1st gen ZT 0550 blem available for $120. Hinderer design. ZT production.

The Kershaw Leek and Shallot are also good EDC knives. The composite blade Leek is one of my personal favorite EDC blades. There are also still Damascus Leeks and Shallots out there for under $100. The Kershaw Cryo, Volt SS, and Zing SS are all relatively inexpensive framelocks as well. Those can be commonly found for around $30.

The Sage 2 is a nice lightweight framelock as well and typically runs around $160, give or take.

The Ripple has a variation that uses a framelock as well and runs around $70. Another is the Eros w/ titanium handles, which runs around $100.

ZT 0350 is well with in your budget. Also the Kershaw Rake or Knockout. I would go with the 0350!

Good luck!

There are a ton of frame locks out there, especially Totanium.

The Southard is a great choice and highly recommended.

I have mine re-profiled to a 3" blade and installed a deep carry clip on it.

Like BladeChick mentioned, the Boker Albatros is another awesome Ti Framelock.

It's a bulldog style knife, in that its short and really stout.

Then like a few have mentioned don't forget Zero Tolerance, the 0550 & 0560 are two amazing frame locks.

In the end it all comes down to personal preference though.

I have some Custom Ti Framelocks(TSF BEAST, R. Flaherty Model 1, Sebenza 21 Small, etc) that are a step up in price, but def worth the extra coin.

If you have a B&M store located near you that you're able to handle some knives that would be a great avenue to choose as well.

the ppt is a great knife carry it all the time and the sage 2 is also pretty decent its my gentlemans knife. For beefy framelock try a zt 0550 the guy two posts up has it at a pretty decent price.

I just picked up a boker manaro bullseye. $130 and its got a unique and beautiful blade. It was a little rough at first but broke in beautifully just with a drop of militec and a couple hundred openings lol. It's not on par with my zt's, sebbies, and other high end production models but it's damn good for 130 bucks.

Another vote for the Sage 2, given your requirements. It's a very nice knife, with fantastic fit and finish for the price.

If you can muster up the cash the Spyderco Brad Southard is an EXCELLENT blade. I LOVE mine. It locks up tight with no blade play in any direction, they "treat" the lock face, blade centering is spot on, and it swings open with the greatest of ease. I have seen a bunch of people on YouTube review them and all the specimens I have seen have been the exact same. Spyderco's Taiwan manufacturer has excellent fit and finish. That being said I don't think you can go wrong with the Sage 2, simple, to the point and also built with great fit and finish. If the Southard is out of your price range I second the Sage 2.

Well my new Benchmade auto rift fell through so I have some extra funds I'm really eyeing the PPT or the 0550 from Kershawguy but I cant decide.....

Well I waited and ended picking up a Spyderco Domino.

Well I waited and ended picking up a Spyderco Domino.

I think you made a good choice. I have the Southard and the Domino, and as much as I like the Southard blade I think the action on the Domino is superior. Enjoy :)

I would definitely check out ZT for that price range. Many great knives, but I am not sure if they are a little overbuilt for you as in weight and size. The Spyderco Domino and the Sage 2 are also very good picks for that price range when it comes to ti-framelocks. I am on a ti-framelock kick and am loving them.
