Thinking about a Kel-Tec Sub-2000 in .40 anyone have any experience with them?

May have to wait until the craziness calms down(let's hope it does) as I'm not paying the current going rate for one, but thought it would be a fun gun to own.

Anything else similar I would appreciate your feedback as well. (Ruger PC4, Beretta CX4 Storm and I know that HiPoint makes something also but I think I'll stay away from them)

:D:D

I'd say go for it if you can find one for a reasonable rate. They really are kinda hard to find as of now and command a premium at the present. Nothing in the least bit wrong with a Hi-Point, I love my 995, and my only quarrel is the lack of a high-cap mag that works reliably. Not exactly an heirloom, but a useable tool nonetheless.

I had both a .40 and a 9mm at different times. They are definately fun, but also very usable for thier purpose - reaching out to that intermediate range that's too far for a pistol, yet doesn't need a rifle. I used mine for protection details and carried it in a laptop bag.

They are in demand, so get in line and expect to pay close to MSRP. If your serious about it, better buy some "high capacity" magazines too before they dry up.

Operationally the gun couldn't be simpler - unfold, charge and shoot. Disassembly is a breeze, reassembly, well, can be frustrating; READ THE MANUAL! Shooting it is unique as well - it's a basic blow back operation with a rather heavy bolt. This equals more felt recoil than one would expect from a pistol caliber carbine. There are after market recoil pads, but they make the overall package a little bigger. One accessory I would recommend would be a cheek guard that slips over the buttstock tube. This can get mighty uncomfortable in the cold or during extended shooting sessions. Enjoy!

It's kinda a weird setup, but a company called Mech-Tech produces an upper receiver that'll convert a Glock to a nifty little carbine. They also make them for Beretta 92s and 1911s as well. Interesting concept, but for less money one could have a 995, but the availability and capacity of Glock mags would make it a better option as far as I'm concerned. Still A Sub-2000 would be the ticket for the right price. Don't give up, I don't know what the deal is with Kel-Tec, they can't seem to keep up with production, as well as they used to.

Picked one up a couple of months ago. Glock version .40 along with an extra 22 round mag. Very simple and fun to shoot. I've had no problems with it.

Thanks for the info guys. Now I just have to find one. Maybe I'll get lucky and my LGS will locate one for me but my guess is I'll be looking a while
