Thinking about a new knife

and I'll have to part with my Ritter RSK to do it. I don't HAVE to part with it but frankly it is just to big for my needs. I do have a mini RSK to help ease the pain. It seems that blades in the 2.5"-3" range are more than adequate for all my cutting chores, at work and around the house. I've narrowed my choices to the BM 525, 705, 707, HK1421, or the Spyderco Caly3, and on the outside of the ring a Mini Manix. I know the Mini-Manix isn't much smaller than the Ritter, and actually heavier, but Spyderco claims the actual cutting blade to be ~2.75". Anyways my priorities lie in the grip, I'd like a full 4 finger grip, and definitely want G10 scales, and of course the blade length to fall between 2.5-3". Lets hear all the opinions!

TIA

Two come to mind that are in my arsenal. The Spyderco Native with the s30v blade and the combo blade Pro-Grip. Also a spyderco.

I have the Native...but the Pro-Grip doesn't ring a bell..I'll have to check the Spydy catalog.

I have all the knives you mentioned except the 705. My choice for EDC out of all of them would be the H&K14210. Full 4-finger grip available on the handle, very good (not "great", but very good) F&F, 154CM steel is my 2nd favorite for EDC (behind VG10), carries easily and cuts very well.

Second choice would be the Caly 3 in G10/VG10. It carries slimmer and cuts as well as the H&K... I just have a fondness for open construction knives and AXIS locks. The F&F on the Caly 3 is superior, however, to both of my 14210s. The Caly 3 is equal to the F&F on my Al-Mar Nomad. Both are the best I've ever seen in a factory knife... absolutely no flaws or blemishes.

Ya know.. you might condsider adding the Nomad to your list of choices. The only reason I don't carry and use it more is that it's a liner lock. But it's a very well done liner lock. Mine has never had a problem or even moved from its original lockup position when new, and I have used it some.

Some of the Mcusta knives have blades around 3" and fairly full-sized handles. Mine came sharper than any other knife I've bought.
