Thinking about a Strider. Which one?

I know this is a subjective opinion because they are both different but I am trying to decide between the PT and the SnG. I like the size of the PT but love the strength of the SnG. Can y'all just give the pro's and con's of both?

Thanks

They are both good, but the SnG has more blade length, is stronger, has more options than the PT does.

Really buy what you like, personally I would get the SnG between those two.

If you like the size of PT, go with PT. To me PT is a better urban EDC size than SNG and still very tough folder.

PT is as tuff as an SNG
The Ti is the same thickness on both knives.
I say go for a SNG

I was faced with the same choice a while back, ended up with the PT. I am sure both knives are extremely tough. I chose the PT because I generally carry smaller folders, but now I want an SNG too. The only thing I do not like about the PT is the clip placement. The knife rides extremely high when clipped in my pocket. It would be very easy for someone to grab it if they wanted to. So it is usually loose in my pocket when I carry it. I do believe the clip placement on the SNG allows it to ride a little deeper in pocket, with less sticking out. Good luck with your decision. You will be happy with either.

i think the pt is big for a little knife.

if pocket carry (not clipped) is what you are interested in, strider is probably not the way to go in general.

i would recommend a small sebenza with the clip removed if this is the case.

however, of the two, i find the sng to be a lot more knife while not being much larger on paper. i have the same feeling regarding the small and large sebenza.

and i think the smf is just plain huge, as are the ar/gb. the sng is not bad as an edc folder, and has a useful cutting surface. ive owned, at one time, sng's, an smf, and an ar. i have handled the pt, and its too big to be unobtrusive in the pocket, and aren't always offered with a pocket clip. ymmv.

i think the sng is the best balance of size and cutting surface currently offered by strider.

Between the two, I'd go with the SnG, but only because the PT is too small for my taste for being a main EDC. I would carry a PT if I also had a larger knife with it. But if the PT is your ideal size, I don't see why you should go with anything else. The PT is plenty tough for EDC.

imho the SnG is the best folder for edc strider makes, and i have had them all, PT's, AR's, GB's, SmF's, the SnG is my fav of the SKI line.

I prefer the SnG. The PT is a nice little knife, but I found that it would often start to slip up out of my pocket on occasion. I was always checking it to make sure it didn't pop out of my pocket. The clip is short and the handle is short and typically when sitting it would rise up out of the pocket. I had the same issue with small Sebenza's but not as bad. Just for peace of mind (and a bigger/stronger knife) I'd go with the SnG.

I prefer the SnG to the PT... it is a more useful size. Both are GREAT knives worthy of checking out. The ONE thing that I can't really get over is that just the tip of the blade is covered by the handle when closed... Otherwise they are GREAT! I would pick up a Sebenza 21 as well just for comparison's sake. You could pick up both on the exchange, sell they one you like least and lose only shipping... that's what I do! I prefer to buy Spydies and Benchmades new, but with the unbeatable QC of Chris Reeve Knives and the increasing QC of strider I feel comfortable buying "pre-loved."

I personally like the SnG. I don't think it is at all too big to carry for EDC, and in fact I carry it quite often.
