Thinking about a ZT

Hi guys, been thinking about picking up a new folder. I have been eyeing the Zt's and they look really nice. I want a larger folder that can take a lot of hard use and double as a emergency blade. I do a lot of bushcraft/outdoors stuff and want something that will take the grit and rough use. I want to keep the price under $150 ( i do not mind blems) and was looking at the 0200 and the 0350. anybody have comparison pics? how well does the speed safe work when used in gritty conditions? also how are the liner locks? are they strong? thanks for any info:)
 
My vote would be the 0200, it is a larger blade and if you are going to be using it outdoors I think the larger blade would be nice, the liner lock is plenty strong as well.
 
I agree with Bw. I think the 0200 will serve you better in the bush. It's a beast of a knife, and super easy to clean out the grime and grit.

Of course, having said that, you really can't go wrong with the 0350 either! :D
 
I just picked up a 0350 locally for $148... DO IT! and dont look back...

I was told you can remove the spring and it will function like a regular folder, that is if your worried about the mechanism...

It is certainly a tank, and will be replacing a BM806 for EDC...

I am not one bit scared of dropping the ZT tip down into the dirt, or small cutting tasks that are tough on blade tips. I cant wait to pick up its big brother (0301) !

Thanks for the pic, looks like the 0200 is a little more heavy duty (especially the pivot pin) but than again the 0350 would be a little smaller for edc
 
forgot to add how do the Zt's cut? they look like they have a fairly thin edge.
 
I have a 0300, 0301, & 0550 even though none of these are what you are looking for I would say just from the quality of these knives I wouldn't hesitate. Just get one.
 
I wouldn't say the 0350 is not as heavy-duty. I don't know which will take more, but both are tanks. If you break one, you are well into the abuse side. Any ZT is a great choice, but I would (and did) get the 0350, since I like AOs.
 
you might want to wait until the 0350 tiger stripe comes out. Not sure on when its coming out but ill most likely be getting it.
 
These are almost also floating around here on the exchange. I think 2 of the 200s are for sale right now, both in your price range. Great knives.
 
Get the 0200. I have both the 0200 and the 0350 and the 0200 is definitely more beefy/heavier duty.

You might be able to up you price range and score a blem 0300 too.
 
I gotta say, the ZT0200 is the way to go. I had the 0350 and it is a very nice knife, but was not comfortable in my hand, it was a tad short, where it needed to be long. Course my hand is not your hand, and it may very well fit comfortably for you. The 0200 is a perfect fit!

I think it was the same thing as the 0560. First shipment is out and went overseas. Don't think they've started to hit US dealers yet.
 
If for outdoors get the ZT0200ST.
The 0200 has a more confident grip than the 0350 imo

lastly not only is the blade longer than the 0350 but the tip grind has a smaller geometry so will penetrate easier in sd should the need arise

I don't know how they compare to the ZT's but the kershaw R.A.M, tremor and boa look like some well thought out designs, that would be excellent for woods/outdoor use. Is the R.A.M lock similar to an axis style lock? I only have a couple of kershaw's I'm thinking that is gonna have to change:D
