I asked about a good edc fix blade in general discussion and got great answers. But someone reccomended that i look at custom knives. I was wondering if any knife maker could talk to me about what i want and see if it would make a reasonable smaller fix blade/neck knife for edc.

There are many of us who will be willing to do so. You can drop me an email or PM if you would like. My email is chuck(@)woodchuckforge.com just remove the parens.

Thats the beauty of a custom you get what you want and have valuable input from someone with experience. Its like a buying a steak from looking at pictures or ordering a steak telling them you want a 12oz sirloin barely pink in the middle with a fully loaded potato with extra cheese on it. The first steak might be a good one but you just never know.

I highly recommend Scott Gossman or Daniel Fairly. I had some designs I wanted .They both made them a reality. I have no experience with John from JK knives but I hear he can make any design you have into reality also.

Thanks, i contacted those makers and you richard. I have a better idea of what i want now though. Im a big fan of small japanese-tanto style knives and i think that would make an excellent neck knife for what i want :)

Peruse the makers' for sale section. Knives like that are frequently offered, and generally at very good prices.
