Thinking about buying a new Strider "Baby Huey" SJ-75- thoughts?

I've never owned a Strider, mainly because of wanting 3" blades, but am kinda liking the Baby Huey. My folder collection is small, and rather than buying a bunch of one style (like multiple Sebenzas), am going, generally, with one of each: Sebenza, XM-18, you know, the usual crowd. This knife seems fairly priced based on the Youtube reviews.

Purpose: light EDC (cutting open boxes, envelopes) and fondling.

Feedback from SJ-75 owners would be very much appreciated.

The prob I had with my mSJ75 is its smooth/slickness. It just begged to be dropped. The blade tip is seriously thin. The super wide leaf shaped blade makes it less useful than most knives of the same size for my uses. A Sebenza is a much better knife all things considered in the SJ75 user market... unless a person is more interested in looks and it floats their boat...which is OK. Personally I believe the SnG to be the best overall Strider folder. I've owned every flavor and prefer the standard Lego handle w/ flamed Ti.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, archieblue. I guess another option would be the Mnandi, as I don't have one of those yet. I thought the Strider would be tougher, but how tough do I need a knife to open packages anyway :)

Well, I did manage to chip a Mike Norris damascus blade opening a package, but I don't know what kind of steel he uses. Pretty blade, though.

The SJ75 is ideal for your uses. It's a great medium to light duty folder. Unlike it's other brothers(SnG,SmF) it's a super slicer. The fit and finish is is great, I found no flaws on mine. It's a pleasure to handle, no usual break in period, no sticking lock, just grab and enjoy. With it's tapered scales, it carries light and easy.
Oh and strong, plenty of that, 3/16" thick scales at the pivot area(they taper), add the Bull Pivot, oh yea strong. It's no folding prybar, it's a cutter.
Note - I have an SnG and like it.

Thanks very much for your input, gull wing. Exactly what I was looking for, feedback from an owner. Really appreciate it. Locutus.
