Not sure if I should choose the wood or plastic handles. The wood handles look nice, but the plastic handles are lighter, but mostly I'd like the knife to last a while, and I'm not sure which of the two lasts the longest. Thoughts?

the plastic will probably last longer. you could always make your own wooden ones later if you wanted to.

I think both will last a good long while, unless you plan on driving a car over the knife, then I'd pick the plastic. I'd make this decision based on looks.

BTW, there is a "mini" peasant shipping to the US, presumably before this Xmas. It's a bit smaller and more pocket friendly, if that is important.

And yes, buy one. It's one of my favorite knives. It's a tough customer with good steel.

pick the handles you like. i got orange plastic for mine under the assumption it would be harder to lose.

For function, I prefer the feel of the plastic handles. They also make one with aluminum handles. Stay away from that one. It sucks.

Plastic. I love mine, and was glad I got it. Very high quality blade, and super easy to clean.

Guess I'll go for the plastic handled version then and hopefully the Mini will be up for grabs before I get impatient and buy the full sized version.

I'd go with plastic and make your own wood if you want. Just stay away from the yellow...way to ugly.
