I had PE/SF model a couple months ago, and decided to trade it away when I had a Spyderco Mini Manix enroute. My reasoning was that I didn't really care for the Liner lock,or the wave feature, and figured the 80mm Manix with it's 2-3/4" cutting edge and backlock would be a better/legal alternative for an EDC.
Unfortunately the CQC14 was gone by the time I recieved the Mini Manix. While the Manix had great handles ergo's, comparable to the Snubby, the blade profile was huge. Yes it did have a 2-3/4" cutting edge, but the wide blade profile made it pretty intimidating to non knife people. I have since traded the Mini Manix away, and would like another full sized knife, with a sub 3" blade. Which leads me back to the CQC14. There just doesn't seem to be another knife out there with similar blade length, and handle ergos. The 14 I had and great handle ergo's, and the blade length while not legal in alot a municipalities, which have 2.5" blade lengths, is closer. Plus being an Electrician, I can leagally carry a larger knife for work, as a "tool". I just don't want to push the envelope. Anyways I think I may pull the plug today and order one today..I think I just need a push too help me get over the fence from all you knife enablers
