I am thinking about getting the Gale Bradley as an edc/dress knife. Has anyone had any issues with their fingers sliding onto the blade? that is pretty much my only concern. what are your thoughts on the knife?

No problems here, it's actually more ergonomic than you'd think. If you just held the knife without knowing anything about it before, I'm sure that you wouldn't notice any danger of your fingers slipping onto the blade.

You will find that when you grip the handle with your thumb on the ramp, the natural grip motion of your index finger is away from the blade.

I bought one a few months ago and I like it ,couple of things that I wish were a little bit more refined, the liner lock is a little hard to get at,and it's a tad heavy but I kind of think the idea of this knife is it's not for creme-puffs a category which at times I may fall into.

I actually like the way the liner lock on the GB is constructed and how it operates.

Good choice.
I'd also recommend the Para 2 unless you need the dressier look of the GB.
The Para 2 is the best folder I've ever used or owned.

Your first Spyderco? You must be tired of having disposable income. Don't do it. I counted $700 worth of Spydercos on my dresser this morning (well, there was a ZT in there too).

For an EDC/dress knife, I'd go with a Sage 1 or CF Caly 3 instead. The Gayle Bradley is an excellent knife, but I'd put it in the 'heavy-duty/hard-use' category.

The GB is an awesome knife. Super well built....sturdy, strong. The para 2 is fantastic also.

If you're looking for a good all around spyderco, I would definately consider the Manic 2, but you can't go wrong with a spyderco. Good luck!
