Thinking of buying a juice

As fare as multi tools go I currently have a vic rs, lm charge ti and gerber not sure what model. Right now my edc is a vic deluxe tinker. The deluxe tinker is perfect for me but I wish it had a saw and in a few instances a c screw. If anyone has any pics for comparison of size as to how the juice compares to other multi tools and to a 91mm vic I would appreciate it.

Sorry I guess I should have titled this thread thinking of buying a lm juice or a vic spirit so if anyone has pics of both of these they could post in comparison I would appreciate it.

I've owned all of the Leatherman Juice series and the only one I've kept of them is the Pro model. The only other full sized multitool I've EDC'd more is the Wave. The Spirit seems to have the nicest fit and finish of the lot. I also put the Wave and SOG S44 in with the Juice and Spirit for size comparisons in the photos. They're all good tools and have their pros and cons. For carry, I most often just use a lanyard attached to the tool, clipped to a belt loop and hanging down into my right front pocket instead of a sheath.

Tool weight:

Juice Pro: 6.7 oz
Spirit: 7.4 oz
Wave: 8.5 oz
SOG S44: 5.1

Thanks a lot, those were really helpful pics. I should have figured that the juice would have been as thick as it is since the lm pliers take up the middle section of the handle even though the blades can be opened from the outside. I was considering the juice thinking it would be more pocket friendly in size than the spirit but even though it is a little shorter the thickness would be a little too bulky. Also I prefer vic's materials over lm's. Despite the size though the juice cs4 has the exact set of tools I am looking for. Where I am having problems deciding is quality compared to a vic and how pocketable it will be.

The CS4 will be thinner, lighter, and more pocketable than the Juice Pro or Spirit, but considering that it's in the same price range as the Spirit, I think the Spirit would give you more bang for the buck. With locking tools and more features, you'll probably enjoy it more as long as the serrated butter knife and smaller scissors don't bother you. ;)

Lol well in reality I will probably end up saying to hell with it buy both of them as usual and end up still carrying what I already do. If I end up buying the spirit though, I am going to get the one with the plain blade in place of the scissors.

Two years ago I bought a CS4 for the sole reason it was on sale at Target for half its normal price. At the time I wasn't interested in the Juice line, but figured at the price, I could try it out, and if it wasn't a good fit, sell it off for what I paid, or more (I have done this sort of thing successfully several times). Instead, it wound up as my most carried pocket companion; not perfect, but for me a good balance of features and portability. That's also how I got my Spirit (Amazon sale), which I had expected to trump the CS4 because of fit, finish and locking implements. Instead, I found to be just a little larger and heavier than I like for pocket carry, enough so that I gravitated to the Juice instead. For most of what I need it for, the CS4 works well, although I pack a Core when anticipating "serious" usage.

If the Spirit moves you :D , I think the S version is the better choice because of the PE blade, a useful alternative to the original serrated (which I like, actually.) Dropping the suckiest Vic scissors ever is no loss, IMHO.

jess Im going to wave you off from the juice. The fit and finish is crappy, the scales on the handle make weird sticking sounds when you handle them, the blade is somekind of slipjoint design but more like a friction lock but really just weak and awfull. Think swiss in all things, sorry america or china , where ever the leathermans are really made today.

Thanks for the advice. Like I said, I own a Vic Tool Rs, a lm charge ti and lots of other vics and other knives that arent multi tool related. However, at the moment my edc is a deluxe tinker mainly due to size but at work I carry the charge in a belt sheath. I like the quality of the vics a lot more hands down but there are a lot of attributes I like with the lm charge I carry at work. Mainly its size, the one handed blade openings, wire cutters and if I so chose to the pocket clip. Unfortunately, there isnt a vic with those features yet. If so I definitely would be the first to buy one. I guess I should just buy a mod of some sort :)

While not quite up to Vic standards, Leatherman f/f is good enough. My two year old CS4 shows more signs of use than would a Spirit, entirely because of wear on the blue painted scales. That is strictly a cosmetic issue, of little concern except, if anything, I like the little scars tools get from use. The rest looks none the worse for wear, save the same kind of little burnishing and dings you would get on a SAK, as well.

Maybe I am not sensitive enough, but I have not heard weird sticking sounds from my CS4 handles. In my experience, the springs seem to reliably hold the blade open or shut, whichever you need, behaving much like any other slipjoint knife I ever handled. All implements snap open and shut with precision.

Meanwhile, I must admit the CS4, although no Vic, is holding up well, has its charms and been a capable pocket companion, quirks and all.

Swiss is good, but so is American (mostly, but not Chinese) made Leatherman.
