Thinking of buying a new Spydie...Super Blue Stretch?

Currently my only Spyderco is a Sprint PM2. I have other folders, most of them customs and heavier stock blades. I'm thinking of buying a Spydie tonight.
I know next month I'm already buying a Military but felt like impulse buying something else online tonight. A Super Blue Stretch.

How are they? I've heard a couple blade wiggle and non centered blade stories but what's the overall consensus?

Mine has rock solid lock up.No blade play in any direction and perfectly centered.

Almost bought a Super Blue Stretch but went with the ZDP-189 Stretch and love it as an EDC, switching between my PM2 and that. Regardless, Super Blue is a great steel and I think you'll really enjoy the Stretch pattern regardless.

My sb stretch is the only spyderco lock back that I own other than my native 5's that doesn't have vertical play. Mine is perfect unlike my sb caly 3.5 and caly zdp. It is a great edc blade, I especially like it because it's laminated.

My blade is centered, and there is zero play. Only issue, if you could call it one is the liner near the pivot scratches the blade. It is a great knife and I never plan on selling it.

Do it...fantastic ergonomics, and I can already tell from the short time I've had mine (My first SuperBlue) that it's going to be a favourite steel .

Picked one up last week. Should be here by Thursday. Scored it for less than a $100 so I couldn't pass on it. I'm interested to see how sharp the steel gets. People seem to rave about how sharp they are getting it. Congrats on your Spydie purchase.

It has a very fine grain structure so it will take a VERY fine edge, and is stable at lower edge angles than say S30V. It also has very good edge retention, and is very easy and fast to sharpen.

I recently picked up a stretch in zdp - and I have to say, all of the hype around this knife is 100% legit! The ergos are amazing, a little better than my paramilitary 2. The blade shape is very useful, and it is ground very thin....this thing cuts better than pretty much every other spyderco I own.

I was going back and forth between getting the stretch in super blue or zdp - I went with the zdp for its better corrosion resistance, and edge retention.

ZDP-189 will always be available, SB, not so much. None of my SB knives show patina, since I wipe them after use, and do not use for food prep. As for edge retention.....I'll take ease of sharpening and a keen edge over time consuming sharpening. I stopped carrying most of my ZDP-189 blades because of the time it takes to resharpen. Just not worth it to me.

It's all personal preference. Personally, I never let my blades get so dull that they require a major resharpening. When a knife can no longer slice phone book paper - that's when I touch it up.

Agreed, it is all about the user. I touch mine up every few days and keep them razor sharp. But it should be noted that I don't do work with my knives that requires me to do prolonged cutting without having the opportunity to sharpen. If I did, some of the higher wear resistance steels would probably look more appealing to me. As it stands, I tend to look for steels that will hold their fine "razor" edge the longest. Once a knife reaches "working edge" status I give it a touch up so a knife being able to hold a working edge for a month is pretty much irrelevant to me. I'd rather have one that will still treetop hairs after 10 minutes of use. :) My limited experience with superblue has shown it to be a good performer in this regard. I also like the way m4 held its razor edge but don't currently own any. :(
