I am thinking of buying the ZT 0561. Can you convince me to buy one and what are your thoughts?
Is it money well spend/worth?

Hi,

I am thinking of buying the ZT 0561. Can you convince me to buy one and what are your thoughts?
Is it money well spend/worth?

Ive had mine for about 2weeks or something, and i'm in love. It's the blackwash version i have.
Awesome knife, solid lockup, no stickyness, flips like a dream.
Depending on how you flip it, you can get a sore finger from the gimping on the back. But thats havent been a problem for me. :)
It's quiet a big knife, and it feels in the pocket. But i really dont care about weight or size, if i want to carry it, i do. :p
So if you dont like big Knives this isnt for you. But since you are looking on the 0560, you probably already Know that. :)

Ive heard Peeps talking about burned edges on Zt's Elmax steel, but i'm not that in to steels yet, so i cant tell if mine does or not. :(

Got mine about a month ago-what the guy above says, great knife. (My lock was a little sticky but smoothed out). No regrets.

Another Swede chiming in..
Love mine, bought it as a blem from kershawguy.
Had to sharpen out a few nicks at the tip, probably from
someone dropping it. Other then that, its an awesome big
knife. Stonewash is gorgeous, love the bladeshape, flips
like a striking cobra, comfortable grip.

Oh, and did I say I like it? ......a lot!

The one I have is so broke in that it is incredibly smooth almost crazy smooth. Lock up is still rock solid. And has good detent but you would never know it by just opening and closing it because its so buttery smooth. I think it would be a great investment for you..

Great knife, light in the pocket for it's size, flips like a dream, tough as nails, however; my one complaint about it is that if you plan to use it for tough jobs for a long period of time, the jimping starts to get really uncomfortable without gloves. I had to sand the scale a bit to get the ridges down. I have owned it for a while now (not sure the exact time but it's one of the "El max" ones) and used it for everything from light batoning to food prep and it has no competition in line for my pocket as of yet.

great knife. like everything about mine except for the pocket clip. i don't like the deep design as it holds up on jeans and i have to fiddle with it to get it seated. nitpicking at best on that one. also the titanium even with texturing on it, which is awesome btw, is too smooth and the clip is too weak to hold tension and only gravity and weight keep it in my pocket. mine may be the only one like this i don't know....but the fit and finish is fantastic and the ergo are great. elmax holds a good edge and it lasts. i'd like to carry it more, but i don't trust it won't fall out.

Thanks guys for the info! I think this will be my next baby :D
Just need to find some money somewhere.

You won't be disappointed in the 561 at all I really like that knife. Let us know what you think of it maybe compare it to the 566?

I've had mine for over a month now. It opens like the blade is on hydraulics. The fit and finish rival some semi-production and custom knives I've owned. The steel is terrific, and the blade was unbelievably sharp out of the box. Buy.

Where did you get those scales?!

Great knife, great warranty from a company that backs it up. My 0560 lock was pretty sticky personally, but apparently it's normal for new ones until you "break it in". Flips really well and smooth though with a solid lock. The 3-d machined titanium scale is awesome.

They pop up on the exchange at great prices, shop around and you'll get it waaay below retail. Good luck, and you better post pics if you get one! :)

If i was u id go with the new blackwash 0560s......either way check out kershawguy.com for best prices and fastest shipping ur ever see

Ordered up the black wash this weekend. The shiny titanium and colored scale always rubbed me the wrong way aesthetically. The black wash ought to fix that :-)

Looking forward to it!

I love mine and its been in my pocket for 3 months.

When I got it it was a tip up carry and it cut me a couple time, I turned it around and adjusted the blade tightness and now it stays closed.

I really like mine. I can't add much to what everybody else has said- it's a big knife but relatively thin and doesn't feel big or heavy when in your pocket.

It is just an excellent knife for the money. It has a larger blade, but I find it easy still to EDC. The steel is good, the deep carry clip is really nice, and it is a super smooth folder. The flipper is a lot of fun to play with. The ergonomics are great.

I had a 560 when they first came out and sold it. The 561 I have now has a serial number in the 6000s and it seems to have better fit and finish than the early models. It came out of the box with perfect centering and has zero blade play. Bottom line: the 561 is one of my top 5 favorite folders.
