Thinking of getting a 13.

I want to get a 13. Ive handled this before and the blade is killer with a nice point.
Are there any negatives to this model I should be aware of. I am watching the tube in the mean time.

Honestly there are no bad models, it is a personal choice. As you say you have had a 13 in your hands, it passed the first test.
 
The only negative I can point out for the 13 is the size (kind of); if you wear a glove smaller than a 7.5 it may be too big for you. Other than that, it's a solid piece. Great strong tip with lots of cutting belly, and built hardily, as we have come to know and expect from an Emerson.
 
I got small little girl hands and my hand fills the 13 handle?

Only spot is the tip seems maybe delicate...but that is a subjective thing for sure. There is plenty of steel but it seems maybe a very slight tad delicate compared to a 15 or 8 or 7 etc.
 
One thing to note about the 13 is the amount of handle that sticks out of your pocket. Quite a bit more than other Emerson models. If you are a deep carry guy(which you shouldn't be with waved knives) it might be a negative point.
 
Other than the points mentioned, nothing bad about the 13... Other than it being bada$$! Love mine--had one, gifted it, bought another and it is my edc. It does it all.

I think that all sounds very positive
I just got back from the Show in Jersey city. The one knife emerson table did not bring was the 13 and anything else that big. What the heck. Was not impressed. I would have picked one up in person.
Oh well.
 
Too bad--I like having the opportunity to pick the one I prefer out of a few possible choices. When I buy an Emerson, I like to call the online retailer and explain to them just what I'm looking for, and they'll go through their stock and confirm things like lock-up, blade centering, etc... may be worth doing. The people at New Graham Knives have always been very helpful.

The one I am getting is a great condition 2006 ##500+ with the Matte finish blade plain edge.
