Hey guys just joined bladeforums a little while ago as I have just gotten into knives.

I bought my first Sebbie (Large Classic) after alot of lurking around here and absolutely love the knife. Was thinking of doing a couple of modifications to the sebbie that would be purely aesthetic.

Looking to get a Weiland flame job similar to the pattern seen in this photo, which belongs to the member "Physics" on here.

What do you guys think if this mod with a CRK damascus blade?? If the sebbie gets the titanium flame job can it be removed in needed to go back to stock?? Also anyone know of the pricing of an extra CRK damascus blade?

thanks guys

I`ve got an damascus blade on order for my large Classic, and it is $270 incl. installation.

I'm going out on a limb with this but I think you may regret it.

Why? Because the Seb is a true classic. It needs nothing to make it better.

Also, after you use it for a while, you may decide you like the other size better...selling/trading an un-modded knife is a lot easier. good luck.

I say do it, because it looks cool as all get out! And you've got the itch, and it won't be scratched until you do it.

Ok, I'm going to go opposite of ft, no dissin' ft:), and say that I would do the flame job. The anodizing is only a few microns thick, but may be thicker with it being done with a torch, or it may not be as tick doing it with a torch, I don't know. You can usually remove the anodizing by sanding it off, or buffing it off. Don't know if CRK would do it, but you could ask beforehand, and if they will, then go for it as a trip to Idaho will put it back to brand new whenever you want and with little effort.

I think that anodizing would look awesome on my Umnumzaan!!

thanks for the responses guys...I really do like the classic lines and style of the sebenza but thought this would be a pretty cool mod if it is tastefuly done.

I think the only way I would do it though is if I thought I could send it back to CRK to redo the handles if I got sick of it (at my own expense of course). hmmmmmm decisions decisions lol.

My only advice would be dont go overboard;).....and no its not mine:)

Do it. I too find the plain handles a bit too plain.

I'll bet that CRK will re-do the handles. Just to make sure, ask them for a price.
