Away from my current fixed blades...I use one manufacturer but I feel the need to try something different! Plus I don't use the small fixed blade much, I'm using a folder more often and the big knife has never been used.

I was thinking Fehrman would be a good try route with a Last Chance but then I got to thinking about maybe grabbing a knife off the Makers forum? Heck, some are much more custom (obviously) and look great, but how do they perform and what's the warranty? I know Fehrman is good and I've had my grips on the Last Chance before, not too terribly interested in the 'production' knives although now that I think about it, the new CRK Nyala would be cool.

I don't know, I'm all over the board :D Just want to hear your thoughts.

once you go custom, it's hard to go back.

Warranty's usually pretty solid.

That's what I've run into with my kitchen cutlery...

Any word on Mcnees? He's got a damn solid look on one of his knives. The Macabre looks great.

Oh shoot.....I do the "two men and a truck" thing and I was gonna send you my phone number....

I ordered a Mcnees MCK1 with black/red combo G10 and red liners. Pics of that bad boy when I get it!

You were on the right track with the Fehrman. If your looking for a folder, you know the drill CRK:D

I love my Fehrman. I don't see a problem with factory blades when they are made as well as these. It is one of the toughest knives I have held... ever. The heat treatment and steel quality is phenomenal. If you get one, it won't fail you, and you will be very happy... Fehrman also stands by his products so if anything goes wrong with your knife (which it won't), then it will be an easy fix dealing with Fehrman. This Fehrman is a beast, and it will easily handle almost any task I throw at it.

That being said, you can't go wrong with a good custom knife either. I have a few, and just put a down payment down on another.

Why not get both? And what are you intending on using the knife for? It's got a 5.5" blade, but it's BIG. Good for using outdoors though...

Here are some images and a video of my Fehrman Last Chance...

I was headed in that direction but what got me thinking is the fact that I never used my big Busse hardly at all so I decided to go with something smaller, a bit more custom, and something not everyone else has.

Heck, and the customs even on the exchange here are great too! Jarrett had a damascus knife I would have bought in a heartbeat if I didn't already have my order in. And sometimes, those custom pieces are cheaper!

If it doesn't go right with Mcnees, I'm headed to Fehrman for sure.

Either way you go, we will gladly take some pics! I'm sure whichever route you go will only temporarily assuage your knife collecting itch... at least that's the way it works with me.
