Like most of you here I have an unnatural attatchment/interest in the design and function of bladed tools. My meager 'collection' consists of quality, but lower end production knives.

I think my most expensive purchase to date (that I haven't sold back) is my Fallkniven F1. I currently EDC a new gray handled Spydie Calypso Jr ever since my older one got confiscated/stolen at the airport.

So, I love knife design so much that I'm thinking of moving up to a higher-end small folder...potentially for EDC. The only thing that I've seen so far that really interests me in my price range is the William Henry CF Kestrel. I like the size, the aesthetic beauty of it and the smoothness of the action. Additionally, I have never heard anyone say a bad thing about WH.

What else would you recommend? Something sturdy, but gentlemanly. Small, but usable for everyday stuff. I have a pretty good idea as to what's out there on the main production lines (BM, Spyderco, etc...) But what about other options, like WH?

Thanks in advance. I spend almost all day on this forum when I can, moving up to Gold member now actually.

Check out Tops for some smaller knives.
Also, CRKT,
However, Spyderco really has the market nailed down for smaller knives.
I would suggest that you try to find a micarta handled Cal Jr.
Good Luck

I'm not sure what your price range is.

Spyderco Kiwi - great knife for office EDC and not too expensive

I'll second the recommendation on the Mnandi from CRK. I too really like the WH line and own more than a couple. But, I think the Mnandi is clearly the best production gents knife there is, and I also think it bests all but the very top tier custom gents knives too. It's not inexpensive though.

Another vote for the Mnandi. The WHs are nice, but they just don't feel as solid and secure as a Chris Reeve knife. If CF is your thing, definitely go with WH.
