Got the idea to at least give some T Shirts a try. What do you think of this for an initial idea. Maybe have the Logo of mine on the back or just go for the clean plain look see how it turnes out.

Any thoughts? Good thing would be with digital printing I can get a few shirts to see how I like them before getting screens made to have more color/ink combinations.

I like the idea and have been considering it myself. It is promotion and you can give them out the family to wear. I would definitely put the logo on the back and just have it say B. Goode knives on the front.

I've had lots of t shirts made over the years, and my advice is to go very light in quantity and only get men's large and extra large initially. Spending a bunch of money on that kind of promo stuff can drain a guy's bank account pretty quick.

The cool thint about digital t shirt presses is that thw quantity can basically be as low as you need. This one will be quantity 1 :)

Some of the feedback is to not have the knife so large but that's sort of the point.

Ill see what this 1 is like and go from there.

I like it. Often times the large graphic is on the back and on the left breast there is smaller graphic. Either way, it is good advertising and you can never have too many T-shirts.

You have a nice logo, though I have found that less can be more with tee shirts. Most business owners want a BIG logo however many folks don't like to be a walking billboard.
Smaller more subtle logos usually result in T's getting more "wear time" thus more exposure for the business. Just my 2 cents.

:) is that your order Don?? :) what are you a 3X?? HA HA just messin with ya. I am going to redo the front Monday I think.

Now you got me laughing Don!!! I am up a t-shirt size since being married 5 years now.

I am an XL damn it- you being a 3X just makes ME feel lees large :)

Just kiddin' Don! Thanks for your humor friend :)

I just got some t shirts made with this graphic, (one color);

It was printed on bamboo fabric which has a really nice feel, and it's pretty durable. The shirts were also made in Canada which was a big plus.

A guy can probably get cheap t shirts at Dorkmart, but if you want something higher class than that, American Apparel makes awesome clothing right there in the USA.

Just a thought, but these shirts are intended to be your 'walking billboard'. I think it pays to do it right and your researching this topic on the forum was an excellent idea.

Yes, we intend them to be "walking billboards" however not too effective a billboard if buried in someone's sox drawer. ;)

Every mother thinks her baby is beautiful, but doesn't mean everyone else does. I'm speaking in general terms here. I like the T design you used Lorien (though seems risky) as I like blgoode's. Just trying to share some "free" advertising advice which I have paid for over the years.

If one is trying to capture the 25 and under folks, then a bright/busy T is probably good. If 30 and over, then something a little more reserved will most likely get more "back time".

It's basic advertising 101, identify your target market and do the research to give them what they want.

Starting small and seeking advise here is a good start IMO. If one is planning a big investment, I would recommend buying an hour or two of an Ad executive's time before moving forward.

It's also important to "build a brand". Coke, Harley Davidson and others aren't creating all their advertising around a common theme and colors by accident.

Even though the CKCA is just starting out, we realize the importance of building a brand around our color pallet and logo. We want the knife enthusiast to see us at a glance and think "I know those folks".....

Though our T shirts have been very well received, we have had a few complaints on the black color down in Mississippi and South Texas. OPPS :foot: ;)

Thanks for the added feedback. I do have a slight advantage having worked in the display industry for about 12 years total and have developed my current employers look all over own my own. Not that I am fantastic at it but I have had experience other haven't. The idea with the large print on the front was thinking of more younger guys in mind. I think I have done good developing a product that's recognisable as a B.Goode knife and I am lucky for that.... Not a planned event by any means I don't think.

The layout is simple enough to work on the front as well as the back and not change much but a more detailed job ticket at the printers. I think ill go for trying to have a few versions and let the designs morph into something better.

In my experience, good designs don't happen but develop from adding to and taking away what doesn't quite work.

Thanks for all the feedback fellas!!! What this thread does solidify is that no one thing works best for all situations.

I hear you there!
