Thinking of the Strider PT

The SNG is out of my price range but the PT looks just about right. I already have a Sebenza so I want to get a Strider to compare. The problem is that it seems that nobody owns the PT because I can't find more than 1 review online. Does anyone have this thing and what do you think?

it's to small, imho save up a little more and get the SnG, it is just about perfect for edc.

I have a PT, and it is my favorite EDC. Yes it's a smaller knife, 2.75" blade, with a 2.5" cutting edge, but it is built like a tank. Ergonomically it actually fits my hand better than a Sebenza, which is why I know longer have the Sebbie. I guess my only complaint would be the pocket clip, the knife sits kind of high out of the pocket, but lately I just slip it in my jeans watch pocket..so the clip isn't an issue.

I have one, and I like it. I also have an SnG and an SMF, so the PT looks kinda cute beside the bigger models. My only complaint about the PT is how high it rides when clipped into a pocket; I would have preferred deeper carry. But that's a fairly nit - picking detail. Overall, it's a nice knife, and a great little cutter.

I have an SMF and like it a lot but only carry it on camping, hunting trips. It is too big for EDC, so I usually carry a Sebenza, custom Lightfoot or a William Henry but I would like to get one of the PT CC model for EDC.

They don't seem to be in stock anywhere right now but several dealers have said that they should have some soon.

I just switched earlier this year from the PT to the PT CC. Great knife. Sure it may be under 3" blade but someone forgot to tell that to the knife. This thing flat out cuts and feels great in the hand. I don't think you be sorry to get one.

I liked the small Sebenza better than the PT and had two PTs new that I thought were uncomfortable in the hand. Both had sharp edges when new, and the aggressive G10 and super strong clip really could do a number on pants. I thought to modify them but figured I'd never use it much due to the way it fit my hand so I never kept them much longer than a few uses and got rid of them while still able to get what I paid for them. Then by chance, not looking for one at all a trade offer came my way for another knife I owned and the deal was too sweet to turn down and I got hold of an older PT that was well used and modified some by the owner who took a dremmel to it and rounded off everything plus the G10 was worn down from age and use I guess. He had replaced the pivot screw also and its still there just as he did it. Overall it looked like it was stationed in Iraq or something you know, :D but three PTs later I have to say its one of my favorite smaller frame locks. It sees a lot of use and makes me wish I'd kept the others past break in.

I like it and I have big hands BTW. It fits me pretty well and I feel I could hard stab with this knife with confidence. Just took some getting used to because it fits the palm slightly differently than you might expect. Once you get to know it you realize its designed to fit just this way and it allows the user to hold it so the knife can't move much in the hand at all in a secure grip. Its also light weight at 2.4 ounces. For once I agree with John W. on something. Someone forgot to tell the PT its just a little guy. ;)

I like the SnG also but it was more folder than I ever need. It does incorporate some great features though and has in common with the PT the choil which is one of my favorite things about both models. I have not seen the CC other than pics and everyone is always out of stock but if you find one I'd say you will have you a great little user and you should buy it. I've never taken much to the Strider fixed blades but the PT and SnG speak for themselves and they do walk the walk.

hey stranger things have happened ;)

Truth be told , no one knife suits everyone. Everyone's idea of comfortable to use or hold is different. To me though , the PT CC is certainly one of my most favorite knives to use. Carries well , you hardly know you have it. Mine rides in a mission wallet in the pack pocket or in a small pocket sheath in the leg pocket of cargo shorts.

Heck with more and more discovering what a heck of a knife it is , I better call and get me a second one :)

The PT is teeny weeny. I had one and sold it. One of the few knives I've sold. JMO.

Bigger is not necessarily better. Oooh! I think I'll stop now. Sounding like Dr. Ruth there! :D

Thats true, STR. One of my Top 10 is the Spydie Ladybug. So I guess that the PT just didn't do it for me. Its very subjective, and to great degree relates to one's expectations. When I think of Strider, I think of the AR and SnG.
