Some discussion about the Duke 500 lately. Thought I post these pictures.
The Duke 500 has become most commonly carried Buck. The thinness of the knife makes it easy to carry in my jeans pocket.
But, the hollow grind on it (and my other Bucks) doesn't allow it to perform as well for my cutting needs as my other, flatter ground knives (Opinels, older Schrades and Ulsters). After convincing myself that I could do the thinning by practicing on another knife first, I put the 500 to the stone. Elbow grease, honing oil and few beers...

As luck would have it, I actually like the look of the blade better. Something about the way that the curve of the spine works with the new curve of the shoulder.
When I carry it, I keep a Leatherman Micra in my LFP. I find this is a really useful combination.
