Over 30 years ago I walked into the Randall Made shop in Orlando with the intention of buying myself a new Randall Knife...and that's exactly what I did. To my joyful surprise they had a little special going on. To show their gratitude for the purchase of a new Randall blade they said I could buy one knife, and only one knife, from a small box of Gentleman's knives that Randall had acquired from a German company which had gone out of business. The cost per knife was an incredible $ 8.00. Here's a picture of possibly the thinnest Gentleman's knife I have ever seen in my life...and after all these years it still walks and talks just like the day I bought it.

I think that pic is going to take another set of hands. I tried to sit it on it's side a minute ago and the dern thing disappeared. Laugh out loud!

which german company is it? (there are lots of out of business ones to choose from ;))

The tang on the master blade is stamped "Gebr Hoppe." The other side of the tang just says Rostfrei, Germany.

This Wenger Patriot, a surprise from ScruffUK, is by far my thinnest pocket knife:

Very nice P!! I love the blue!! I have the Victorinox version in silver, the Secretary. It's a thin knife for sure but I think the AG Russell Ultimate pen and 3" lockbacks (the plain titanium ones) are even thinner. I just don't have a pic handy though...

Ok, while the lockback is thin, its not as thin as the Vic Secretary but the Ultimate Pen is much thinner (it is smaller lengthwise too).

Trand,

I was hoping you'd be back with pictures. :)

Thanks!

Saltaire, I'm guessing the knife in your first post might be thinner yet...?

Or not-- that Ultimate Pen looks wee indeed.

No problem :) Sorry about the poor quality though, I just couldn't hold them up and get a clear pic.

Had to find something to prop it up against to get a photo.
