Thinning edge angle on seb, reprofiling freehand -- Need help

So its been a fun week ever since I purchased my shapton glass water stones and my freehand has greatly improved. My starbenza had slight uneven bevels and a small recurve at the heel. After working on the bevel for a bit on the 500 grit stone I've pretty much cleaned up the uneven bevel. While it shaves great and can slice phonebook paper, the edge it a bit thicker after reprofiling.

I think its sitting somewhere between 45-47 degrees inclusive. Being a thicker edge, its not the best cutter on cardboard. I want to thin out the edge to ideally 35- low 40s, but I'm worried about messing up the bevel. Any advice on how to approach this?

Thanks,

Pick your angle and stick to it until complete, no other way around it. Use even strokes and don't over think it.

Actually it was simpler than I thought. Took me about an hour and a half going from reprofiling to a relatively polished edge that can push cut phone book paper!
