Is there anything around the house or shop or can be found locally to thin Super Glue (Loctite) without compromising it?? To clarify, I wish to thin it to apply to handle material as a filler but hope I do not have to order something special.

Thanks. RL

I don't know, things that change the PH tend to harden the glue off.

There are many brands of SG that are water thin. I use the Hot stuff thin brand, that is widely available from woodwork outlets. Any large model store will sell you thin, in sizes up to a quart or more.

Thin in my case means pretty close to water, and it's fine for filling, or even polishing on a finish.

Try checking at a woodworking store. A local one sells big bottles of water thin glue that woodturners use to stop cracking. The stuff wicks into wood like crazy!

Hot stuff, good, get a bottle of the solvent.

We have some of that Hot Stuff at work. The Kid that works in shipping, glued his fingers to piece of metal.
He had to buy me lunch, before I'd tell him where the solvent was. :lol HE WAS ABOUT TO PANIC. hehehehahah
