We have everything set now, and I just wanted to let everyone know what will be going on. We have pretty much covered the Battle of the Bladesmiths, so I won't get back on that other than to say Jason Knight, Burt Foster, Russ Andrews and Jim Rodebaugh will be competing. It will happen Friday evening. We also have a great buch of demonstrators lined up. Jason Knight will be doing forging, grinding and heat treating. Terry Vandeventer will be doing handles and gaurds. Len Landrum will be doing damascus. Greg Neely and BR Hughes will be doing ABS judging. Steven Rapp will covering silversmithing on a California Bowie, as well as showing how he flat grinds on a disk. Kevin Jones will be doing his seminar on custom knife collecting. I have spoke with several makers who are VERY interested in this. We will also have all the other normal stuff going on. Green Coal, Knife show, auction, cutting demo etc.

I have spoke with most all the makers who will be present. They have all told me that they will have knives with them and that they will be available. We are also planning a BBQ for Saturday evening so everyone will have time to visit.

All of this will be taking place at Haywood Community College in Clyde, North Carolina. Its about 20 minutes west of Asheville on I-40. The dates are March 5-7.

Anyone planning on coming, feel free to contact me, and I will be glad to help out in any way I can.

Bill Wiggins

Okay Mr. Wiggins, so say one was to come to this shin-dig. You would fly into Asheville, NC, correct? And then stay where?

Like Nick, I'd also be interested to know if there was a certain hotel where most would be staying.

This sounds like a blast, thanks for the info Bill.

Mr. Wheeler, you would fly into Asheville where i could pick you up. There are several Motels in the area. Right now, The Lodge in Waynesville has the best rates. 45.00 per night. I am still working on a couple other places to stay. If I come up with anything cheaper, I will let everyone know.

This is a great Hammerin. I went to the first, and I plan to attending this one. Hayward College has the best knifemaking set-up that I have seen. It is located in a beautiful part of North Carolina.

There will be some great makers attending. It will be alot of fun.

Jim is right about the Haywood College facility, it is first class for this kind of thing. BBQ sounds like a good idea, but, a word to the wise, if there is a BBQ, don’t get between Bill Wiggins and food.

Bill

Mr Wiggins, Sorry I won't be there to collect my teddy bear. I will send my representatives Knight, Rodebaugh, and Foster to fight over it. I trust you will judge fairly on this matter.
Seriously, That's the most fun I ever had at a Hammer in last year in NC. Good luck to all, and thanks to Bill for putting it on.

ADAM DESROSIERS.

jjtjr, I am hearing a rumor about a collaboration piece you are coming down to pick up. Heard anything from the handle maker?? Looking foward to seeing you!!

Mr. North, I am guessing you are planning on buying extra BBQ with the money you make for selling your vote in the Battle of the Bladesmiths. Insert favorite short joke here....

Burton, looking foward to seeing you. Bring a sharp knife for the cutting demo. We will have a good time!!

Adam, gonna miss ya'. I will do my best, but it will take more than one person to keep the represenatives you are sending out of trouble. If anything changes, you could try out my press, and I should tell you that we have a new sushi chef in town!!

You got that right! :)
