ok so i have narrowed down my knife choice to three knives based on reviews, material and price. they are the kershaw lahar, benchmade grip, and the sog vulcan. i have heard all good things about the knives adn am at a loss as too which ones i should get for the moment. so if anyone could give me some advice if you own them and a good place to buy them if you know. thanks guys.

The benchmadegrip is the only one here i have experience with and it will serve you well. It is sharp and holds an edge well. Knifecenter.com has a very wide selection and has pretty good prices.

I'd vote for the grip as well. the vulcan is a great knife, with the best steel of the three, but I find it a trifle bulky.
My $0.02

I have handled the Vulcan, and own a Griptilian. Go with the Griptilian. I didn't buy the Vulcan because it was too bulky for EDC. The Lahar is really good, but I prefer the AXIS lock.

ok well the vulcan is out and it is beetween the lahar and the grip. anyone here use both and can comment on them? thanks so far guys.

I've used both, just not owned both. I prefer the Griptilian hands-down. The one I have is the model 551; plain edge, 3.5" blade, thumb studs.
