Third Version, What variation

I picked this 110 up the other day and for the life of me can find no trace of butt pins, it has the integral brass spring holder. So far I have ruled out Variations 1,2,4 & 9 easily. I am in the middle of cleaning and polish but have found no Butt rivets even though the blade pin is evident from both sides. I will post more photos later when the light gets better, I hope. The photos so far do not due justice to the grime, cleaning is very necessary

I have tried putting in the freezer after cleaning to help outline the pin, I have carried around in my pocket, any help would be appreciated.

My guess would be that it's a 3rd/3rd from 1967 because of the location of the rear cover pin and the small nail notch.
There are also lots more 3rd/3rd 110s to be found.
It could possibly be a 3rd/5th, but I only know of a couple of those floating around and they have a larger nail notch.

Thank Mark. I have been looking for the Third Variation but when I do find them for sale the price scares my financial adviser. Unless like this one and they are in need of some help. Even cleaned up I have not been able to see any rear pins on this one, for now I'll list it as a 3/3 with a question mark.

Dave,

Now that you have cleaned it up, you might try this to see if you can find the rear pins. Saturate a small piece of paper towel with vinegar and put that along with the knife in a small plastic bag. You might want to set the knife on some toothpicks or something to keep it away from any liquid. Close the bag and let it sit for a couple of hours until a patina starts to form. Sometimes this will make the pins visible, especially if you use a magnifying lens. Of course you will need to polish it again if you don't want the patina. Good luck.

Bert, that sounds doable, I'll try it right now. Ok I forgot to post earlier, Yes it did work as described and I have 2 pins on the left. So as Stumps thought it is a 3/3.
The pins were there but to faint for photos.

Thanks for the help
