I picked up an abused 12OT at a yard sale last year for $1, after my dad helping me turn it into a wharncliffe (the blade was broken off and poorly reprofiled beyond repair) it sat idle until now. This morning I grabbed it up and headed out to the garage. I did some filework along the liners and backspring, added some apple handles, fixed up the false edge (I had to do this due to the length of the nail nick), I flatground the blade, becuase once reprofiled to a wharnnecliffe it was much too thick on the edge, Cleaned everything up a little and this is what I ended up with. I think it turned out alright, what do YOU think?

Hey muskrat
I think it looks nice! I would like to learn how to do that filing, Thats what makes the knife!
Good job!

Very nice work....that fact that that worthy old knife was salvaged under the skill of your hand makes it even more valuable. At least to my mind.

thank you for the comments. Filework isn't as hard as I thought it would be, it helps to have good sharp files too.
