It also happens to be built like a tank. Many a thinner blade will not perform as a Chris Reeve Sable IV. Everything that went into this total design is pure function.
The lighter wood is green acacia and that is one hard, tough wood. The darker wood is seasoned cedar. The more I use this piece the more amazed I am with it. The Sable will lay off the slightest, airyest pieces of wood or it will chop deep and clean. It is like some kind of magic thing. The stout rounded spine, the incredible point which is both stout and very sharp, the awesome leather sheath (I have not lusted for kydex at all), the razor sharp edge, the specific heat treat for the wilderness, simply incredible.
Paired with my Sebenza, large or small, this makes for a complete system.
