It also happens to be built like a tank. Many a thinner blade will not perform as a Chris Reeve Sable IV. Everything that went into this total design is pure function.

The lighter wood is green acacia and that is one hard, tough wood. The darker wood is seasoned cedar. The more I use this piece the more amazed I am with it. The Sable will lay off the slightest, airyest pieces of wood or it will chop deep and clean. It is like some kind of magic thing. The stout rounded spine, the incredible point which is both stout and very sharp, the awesome leather sheath (I have not lusted for kydex at all), the razor sharp edge, the specific heat treat for the wilderness, simply incredible.

Paired with my Sebenza, large or small, this makes for a complete system.

WOW. . .cool pic !

That would make a awesome "background" if it had a Sable and Sebbie laying in the middle of it all !

Thanks for sharin' ! :D

As expected the Sebbie, large or small is even more impressive. I could turn out microscopic little curls with both of them. I would have to have a camera mounted to a microscope to show you properly though.

This is the reason I went for the Sable IV. I like my Sebbies so much that I wanted a fixed blade equivilant and as you can see I got what I wished for. The nice thing is that they overlap just enough but compliment each other perfectly.
