New guy here, great forum!

I bought a new 551-1 and I love it but I noticed this the first time I tore it down

It's a tiny hole in the blade. I'm sure it wouldn't affect the performance but still. Has anyone seen this before? I want to make sure it's not some how normal before I contact Benchmade.

I can't see the pic's you posted. Butt if you're referring to small hole (s) in the tang of the blade near the pivot hole, BM puts them there to identify the steel of the blade.

Nothing to worry about, completely normal and done intentionally.

Thanks, pbcg! Crisis averted.
