I go to the VA every monday for aftercare with my CDTP group. Today a brigadier general shook my hand. We were talking about what units we had served with and when he found out I had a CIB, he thanked me and shook my hand. I have never done that before. I gotta admit it made me feel kind good.

I'd shake your hand too if I could reach you.:D

Consider this a "virtual" handshake!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I'm no General, but I am a Musical Director. And I'm hoping that we'll meet up, perhaps at a knife show, one of these days and I can shake your hand too.

Remember sending me these? :D

That had to be a good feeling.

I have never been in the military. I admit that I had to look up what a CIB was. I also admit I would be honored to shake your hand and thank you in person for your service.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Be proud of your CIB. There are wannabes but a bit of questioning usually exposes them.

A general saluted me at discharge & I paused a few seconds before returning it . Got a bit hot with me. Ha Ha !

From the beginning, Army leaders have taken care to retain the badge for the unique purpose for which it was established and to prevent the adoption of any other badge which would lower its prestige.

There is something special about the infantry, and rightfully so! It's sad that the other badge finally got adopted. The infantry has the hardest job and often if not most times has to do it in the worst conditions. Be proud of earning it.

I assume you mean the Combat Infantryman's Badge? My uncle (Viet Nam) told me about his. Not an easily-earned decoration, to be sure.

Thank you for your service, sir, and have a happy fourth weekend! :thumbup:

thx - cpr
