So I've been sharpening by hand and do just fine with that but I thought I'd try and Sharpmaker. So I go to buy a Sharpmaker and ended up ordering that, a Sage 2 and a Dragonfly 2. I also ordered a few other things but they aren't Spydies so I won't mention them here.

What should have been just a little over $50 ended up being over $500. :eek:

ha! Yes... It's happened to me a lot lately!

Oh I know about not wanting to add it all up. Every week a box from somewhere has arrived. Last week a Military, Pacific Salt and a Manix 2 came. I've snagged more Delicas than I even want to think about along with Sage 1, Caly 3, 2 other Militarys, 3 Paras and a Para 2 I'm still waiting on. Can't forget the Enduras either. FFG, Saber ground and waved. More than one of each of course.

It's funny because I had a few Spyderco knives and carried 1 Delica 3 for about 11 years and never thought I wanted another EDC. Right after Christmas last year I bought a D4 and it's just snowballed since.
 
Until May of 2010, I had zero Spydercos. Then I bought a Caly 3 CF. As of today the number is 23 Spydies. By the end of this week, it will be 28.
 
Yeah -- been there, done that!
It seems like once the credit card comes out, it has a mind of its own!

....is that a bad thing? Seems like it's been happening to me lately too; in the past two months I ended up with seven spydies, and I'm already planning my budget for the beginning of the new year for many more...

About a week ago, I said to myself: ok it's Xmas time, slow down a bit (buying knives), you got 4 preorders active, that's enough.

One week later, I got a HI Tamang Knife, a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in S90V, then proceeded to get (just because I liked the way it looked and the steel of the blade, Elmax) a Kershaw Speedform II 3550 and just to finish it in style, I found a reputable place where I could get a brand new Spyderco Military Digicam w/ black blade at $108 with free shipping and I said "What the heck, just get it"...
Soooooo...guilty as charged.

Knives...so addicting, so addicting! I hope my wife will never see this post of mine, EVER!

PS: I almost forgot...over on the Himalayan Imports part of the Manufacturers forum, they are doing their "days of Christmas" sale...so EVERY day they post a bunch of Khukuris they just got in from Nepal. Prices are VERY decent. Guess what, if they ever show some nice 18 in. Ang Khola, someone will have to nail me away from the computer because that will be HARD to resist. Temptations, temptations, temptations! :P

Happens to me all the friggin time...
"well you have to pay shipping anyway, so...why not these and that" and bam, 300 bucks, what was intended to be a little restock of some sort.

Sometimes it sucks to be addicted ;-)
 
One of things that gets me into trouble is that in the past I've collected guitars and Busse knives and guns. So when I'm browsing on a knife site there's a little voice in my head that says, "Hey that's only $XX" or something like that. Then before I know it I've filled my shopping cart with several of those "It's only $XX" items. Hehe.
Of course it's gotten a little more like, "$XXX" as of late with 3 Military LH, the Sage 2, and 2 small and 1 large Sebenza.

Not complaining at all. Just an observation about myself. I have a decent job, the bills are paid and I'm single. :) It's all good. :D

I did buy a bunch of Ladybugs and Meadowlarks to give out at Christmas time so I guess they aren't all for me. ;)
 
My haul recently is similar in size to racer88's and if I had my camera back from my sister I'd show you as well. I've been so excited I've been finding myself playing with them for a sec in the early morning when I've awoken to take a piss.
 
Yea those things happen. That's why I write down what I want to order and let someone else make the order. That way it's jsut what I wrote down and not 20 extra things

Me make sheaths? Nope. I've done a few pathetic ones for myself but I've never sold one. Must be thinking of someone else. OINK!

Heck, since I posted this I've snagged around 10 more Spydies.

FG Delicas, Almite R2's and some Kiwi Slipits with the Stag handles. Almost threw another waved Delica on that order but changed at the last moment. I love that knife but already have...well....a few. :D
 
Happens to me all the time. I always tell myself that I'm saving SOOO much money on shipping that ordering multiple items makes perfect sense. :D
