This Genuine Ivory?

This is Indian Sambar stag, I recognise it because it is white under the surface and takes a very high polish.

I have three Japanese Seki folders with this type of scales and they look exactly the same.

How can anyone claim that this is ivory ????

This is blatantly dishonest.

Looks like fossilized mammoth ivory, with nice bark
Judging by the end of the box, I would venture that you're correct. Looks a lot like elk scales in the photo though.

I tried to find that number in the special projects on the club site and in the newsletter. Nothing. The tang stamp is the anvil but not with custom written on it. I'll do a more through search of the 2002 and 2003 newsletters and see if I can find it.

Golly, you don't think it could be a switcheroo...:(. Preston

Maybe someone from Buck can weigh in here, but that looks a lot like some kind of stag handle, shaved down to the "ivory" colored ends. Is it possible that "Ivory" was used as a description, or model designation by Bass Pro Shops and the seller is "mistakenly" using it as genuine? Ya, Ebay, I know, but I can't see Bass Pro selling a true ivory knife out of their catalogue or stores.
