This guy has to be joking, right?

Oh, I think that $6500.00 is a BARGAIN.
Yea, too bad the reserve still isn't met

I wonder what kind of steel it is, if it's been hardened etc... this guy's a piece of work.

The guard is uneven, the wood to metal fit is not that great, and the 180 hours of polishing work seem to not have met the finish achieved by Himalayan Imports employees on every product they turn out.

Somebody will probably buy it...

$6500

Well. . . .it ended with the seller keeping it. Wonder why ? :p

I wonder who the maker is ? Especially considering the price that he commanded for the fruits of his labor.

hey guys ..Ive got Buck Woodsmate that I spent a half hour polishing with a tuff cloth...its yours for $500 if you want it..

hey ..you only got to sell one right..? ;)

An original Moran bowie would not be more, but would be well worth the money unlike this mans knife.

I agree with T. Erdelyi, for that price, professional photos would need to show it more clearly.

Brownie

The price -- for what was being offered -- was so absurd I can't help but wonder if it was some kind of joke -- or someone just throwing the price out there to see if anyone would be dumb enough to pay that. I can't believe the seller serioulsy thought the knife was worth that .

That's what I thought, too. With those "fabulous" photographs, this HAD to be a joke!

(Has anyone here sent this "fabulous" knifemaker an email to get more details? Could we interest him in a pass-around? ;) )

For that kind of money I expect to be able to see the knife I'm bidding on clearly.

Exactly! From those pictures and that description, I'm not gonna make any judgement pro or con. And that was the guy's problem. Nobody's gonna pay $6500+ for a knife based on pictures and a description like that. If the knife is worth that money, then he needs to sell it better.

Unless his last name is Loveless, he's nuts or smoking Crack!!

Maybe both........................

I think you guys missed the fact that he used "elbow grease" to make this! Isn't that worth the price of a nice used car  ?

I could be mistake, but it looks like the handle pins aren't even straight in line with one another.

Oh but Chuck! He said 180 man hours! Obviously it's perfection :D :D What an even number that is. It almost seems made up. ;) If you gave me 180 hours of straight work on the knife, I could fashion it out of a cannonball with a toothbrush. There is no way he spent 180 hours on it and ended up with that, and if he did, I'd add more hours. Who could spend 180 hours, end up with something that mediocre, and say "Oh well, I guess I'm done"?

:barf:

Hey, it's an art to take photos that don't allow people to see any kind of details. :D
